Mary Anderson, an American real estate developer, rancher, vulgariser, and inventor. She was born on February 19, 1866, and died on June 27, 1953. Her father was John C Anderson, and her mother was Rebecca Anderson. Mary Anderson was known for her invention of the windshield wiper blade. It was invented in 1902 and patented in 1903. She has inspired many people as being a female inventor. Mary Anderson was married to Lenord M. Behrens from 1940 to 1950. Her second marriage was to Cinematographer Leon Shamroy from 1953 until his death in 1974.
